fearlessness

fearless. this word. fear-less. to become fearless, to breath in the wild blue of the sky and run the risk of fearlessly loving. c.s. lewis said to love was to be vulnerable. and that's plenty enough reason to fear. being vulnerable is not an instinct. it is not a habit. walls are built to protect vulnerability. fear is eminent and protecting weaknesses and insecurities becomes a habit.

but.

but what if becoming vulnerable was really the beginning, the only way to conquer fear. what if the only way to be truly vulnerable is to love. a ridiculous, crazy kind of love. so crazy that you love especially when it hurts. we all know loving the lovable is easy, warm, happy. but. but what if true strength comes from loving the hard to love. what if, for a change, we hated the crime, not the criminal. we run a risk. the risk of fearless loving.
